HEALTHY HOMES, NOT JUST PRETTY ONES
We’re a small husband-and-wife team in Lexington, Texas that builds, renovates, and restores homes with one simple goal: your family should never have to move out because of mold, moisture, or bad work you couldn’t see.
Our team
We build like our own kids are sleeping here.
After our own home developed mold from bad building decisions, we had to move our family out. That experience changed everything.
Now we’re obsessed with doing it right – air sealing, water management, correct HVAC sizing, and materials that actually make sense in Central Texas. Kevin brings field know-how. Sarah brings design and project coordination. Together, we help you get a home that looks great and quietly does its job in the background every day.
Why Hill & range
- Health & Comfort
- We focus on air quality, humidity, and temperature balance so your home feels good to live in – not just to look at in photos.
- Historic Integrity
- We respect old buildings, using modern building science that protects original details instead of trapping moisture behind them.
- Performance
- We pay attention to the boring stuff: air sealing, water management, insulation, and HVAC sizing – the things that keep problems from showing up later.
- Craftsmanship
- We still care how things are built, even when no one will ever see it once the drywall goes up.

UPCOMING PROJECTS
We’re documenting current work so you can see our standards step-by-step. Until then, ask for our reference checklist and sample scopes to understand how we work.
HISTORIC RESTORATION
Holy Trinity Lutheran Church —
1913 Schoolhouse Restoration
We’re carefully bringing a 1913 schoolhouse back to life. The vinyl siding is coming off to reveal original wood, which we’re repairing, replacing where needed, and repainting. We’re updating electrical and adding period-appropriate lighting, installing HVAC for the first time, and fully redoing the bathrooms—while preserving original wood floors and the building’s integrity at every step.
HOME RENOVATION
Patschke Home Renovation — Windows, Envelope & HVAC
This home has water damage and rot from leaking vinyl windows. We’re replacing every window with proper flashing and water management, repairing damaged siding, air-sealing the envelope that was never sealed, and re-working the HVAC for balanced comfort. The goal: a healthier, drier, quieter home that performs the way it should—now and long-term.
CUSTOM BUILD
Custom Ranch Home —
Design & Planning
We’re in the early stages of designing our own ranch-style home with an architect. Expect a performance-first envelope, healthy materials, and timeless Texas simplicity. We’ll share the full journey—from concepts and floor plans to testing and build milestones—so you can see exactly how we make good decisions before a single wall goes up.
